Amanda Tarver, is so excited to join Utah Festival Opera this summer. She has performed with the Metropolitan Opera NYC, Boston Lyric Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, Castleton Opera, Chautauqua Opera, as well as with many regional theater and opera companies. Her three favorite roles of her career are Buttercup in HMS Pinafore
, Desiree in A Little Night Music
, and Madeleine Mitchell in Jake Heggie's Three Decembers
. As soloist on the concert stage, she has performed such works as the Duraflé Requiem
, Rachmaninov's Vespers
, Verdi's Requiem
, Handel's Messiah
, Bach Magnificat
and Beethoven's 9th Symphony
with Oak Park Symphony, Chicago Chorale Society, and Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. For her European debut as a concert artist, Ms. Tarver was honored by being the only American singer invited to the Neue-Stimmen Masterclass (2010) held in Germany where she worked with the world's most esteemed conductors and vocal coaches and performed in sold out concerts around the country. The fall of 2011, she performed in a recital with composer and friend Jake Heggie featuring his work Pieces of 9/11
honoring the 10th
Anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy.
She has performed with the Metropolitan Opera NYC for the past two seasons and will be returning to the Metropolitan Opera again this fall.
